We design and build modern wireless and optical communication systems. Our research focuses on wave propagation modelling, smart metasurfaces, antennas (including wearable ones), precise location, and dynamic network management and diagnostics.
Propagation models and electromagnetic metamaterials
We develop radio wave propagation models for 4G/5G/6G wireless communication networks, including millimetre, sub-terahertz and terahertz bands.
We design intelligent metasurfaces (RIS/IRS) for adaptive signal propagation control and improved energy efficiency of radio networks.
Antenna systems
We use artificial intelligence methods and equivalent models to design and optimise antennas and antenna systems.
We design textronic systems and antennas integrated into clothing, resistant to operating conditions and safe for the user, intended for telemedicine and emergency services.
Diagnostics, network management and applications
We use machine learning for wireless network diagnostics, including anomaly detection and service quality management automation (QoS/QoE).
We develop algorithms for dynamic resource management in optical networks (TWDM-PON) for 5G/6G radio systems.
We develop methods for locating users inside buildings, including algorithms for fusing radio data (UWB, BLE, 5G), inertial sensor signals and digital maps.
