Medical electronics - irreplaceable in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
Medical Electronics Division was established in 1985 and employs 15 academic teachers, including three full professors and one habilitated doctor.
We develop advanced electronic and IT technologies for medicine and biomedical engineering. We combine scientific research with practical solutions in cooperation with doctors, entrepreneurs and research centres in Poland and abroad.
Medical diagnostics software and systems
We develop software to support medical diagnosis, including the analysis of signals such as ECGs, EEGs and MRI and CT tomographic images (used in kidney, prostate and heart diagnostics), as well as cytological and phoniatric HSV images (used for cancer detection).
Artificial intelligence in biomedicine and food technology
We analyse multimodal medical data using AI and support the personalisation of treatment. In food technology we help assess product quality and the impact of nutrition on health.
Three-dimensional visualisation of anatomical structures
We build three-dimensional visualisations of anatomical structures to aid in surgery planning, diagnostics and medical education. We simulate blood flow in blood vessel models for surgery and treatment planning.
Systems supporting elderly and disabled people
We build smart systems supporting people with disabilities, including remote health monitoring and assistive systems for blind people.
Biometrics and human–computer communication
We develope research into natural methods of human–computer communication based on gestures, speech and biological signals (EEG SSVEP), particularly in medical and rehabilitation applications.
