In October, staff members of Lodz University of Technology, accompanied by students, visited secondary schools to introduce young people to the opportunities offered by studying at our university.

We are proud to announce that D.Sc. Eng. Robert Olbrycht from our Institute has been named among the recipients of this year’s Prime Minister’s Award! He received this prestigious distinction in recognition of his outstanding scientific achievements in the field of thermal imaging technologies and infrared measurement methods.

Can sensor data reveal where a temperature sensor has been installed? Can previous measurements help predict when a beehive’s weight will increase by at least 0.3 kg? These are the questions addressed by researchers from our Institute: Sebastian Górecki, Sławomir Hausman and Piotr Korbel, authors of the paper entitled “Behaviour-Based Temperature-Sensor Role Inference and Lagged Weight-Gain Event Prediction in Multi-Year Smart-Hive Telemetry”, published in the scientific journal Sensors (MDPI).

We are proud to announce that Professor Michał Strzelecki, an academic staff member of our Institute, served as a reviewer in the proceedings for awarding the honorary doctorate to Professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz.

From 19 to 23 October 2026, Professor Paweł Strumiłło, representing the General Council for Science and Higher Education, participated in a study visit to Politecnico di Milano.

📅 On 26 October 2026, the 12th Meeting of Deans of faculties offering degree programmes in Biomedical Engineering took place at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology.

On 19-20 October 2026, our Institute participated in AZYL EXPO 2026 - the Trade Fair for Civil Protection, Civil Defence, Security and Medical Rescue, held at EXPO-Łódź.

On Saturday, 17 October 2026, our outstanding educator, Dr. Eng. Marcin Kociołek, led a workshop entitled “From Electronics to Robotics” for graduates of the Children University, as part of the 9th edition (winter 2026).

Our Institute’s staff members 👉 D.Sc. Eng. Robert Olbrycht, 👉 Dr. Eng. Rafał Kasikowski, and 👉 Dr. Eng. Jakub Piskozub, together with 👉 Dr. Eng. Łukasz Ruta from the Department of Semiconductor and Optoelectronic Devices, took part in a study visit to the production facilities of TDK Hungary Components Kft. in Szombathely, Hungary. The visit was organized at the invitation of TDK Electronics 🤝

As part of a donation from TME (Transfer Multisort Elektronik), our Institute received TME-EDU-ROVER educational kits featuring tracked rover platforms. The rovers were developed through a collaboration between TME and researchers from our Institute. 🤝💙

We kicked off the new academic year with a seminar led by Prof. Michał Strzelecki, entitled "What Do Institute Staff Do in the Summer? On a Conference and a Korean Project." 🌏🔬

From September 23-25, 2026, the next edition of the Radiocommunication and Teleinformatics Conference (KRiT) was held at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The event was dedicated to the latest developments in radiocommunication, telecommunications, and ICT networks. The Institute of Electronics was very well represented at this year’s KRiT.

We are delighted to announce that M.Sc. Eng. Jakub Precht, a PhD student at our Institute, received the Best Paper Presentation Award in the Image Processing II session at the Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA 2026) conference in Poznań. 🎓👏

At the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO 2026 in Kielce, representatives of Lodz University of Technology presented research findings and innovative technologies developed at the university. 🎯🔬
