Between September 15 and October 7, 2025, Prof. Michał Strzelecki from our Institute visited Jeonbuk National University (전북대학교) in the Republic of Korea, taking part in the work of an international research team implementing the project 👉 “Deep Learning – Based Highly Precise Detection of Weeds and Development of Robust and Precision Weeding Technologies.”
The project is led by Prof. Hyongsuk Kim from Jeonbuk National University.
The project focuses on developing an intelligent weeding system that uses deep learning and computer vision techniques to:
🔹 distinguish crops from weeds at the pixel level,
🔹 adapt to changing environmental conditions,
🔹 precisely apply herbicide only where weeds occur.
During his visit, Prof. Michał Strzelecki collaborated with researchers from Jeonbuk National University in the areas of control electronics, automation systems, and the application of deep learning techniques 🚜💡
This interdisciplinary project integrates computer science, electronics, automation, and robotics, serving as an excellent example of how modern technologies support sustainable food production 🌱🤝
