Institute of Electronics is participating in the research project "Deep Learning – Based Highly Precise Detection of Weeds and Development of Robust and Precision Weeding Technologies", led by Jeonbuk National University, Republic of Korea. 🇰🇷
The project aims to develop a highly precise weeding technology using deep learning to:
🔹 Accurately identify crops and weeds at the pixel level
🔹 Adapt to environmental changes through learning
🔹 Precisely target weeds with herbicide.
In the video, the robot drives along a soybean bed. Thanks to installed cameras and implemented AI-based image analysis algorithms, it identifies weeds, which are further destroyed by a stream of herbicide sprayed through needle-type nozzles.
This multidisciplinary project is an example of the synergy achieved by combining knowledge from electronics, automation, robotics, and computer science (particularly deep learning methods) with practical applications in agriculture. 🌱🤝
