We kicked off the new academic year with a seminar led by Prof. Michał Strzelecki, entitled "What Do Institute Staff Do in the Summer? On a Conference and a Korean Project." 🌏🔬
Prof. Michał Strzelecki provided an overview of the key information about the ITIB 2026 – Information Technologies in Biomedicine conference, focusing, among other topics, on artificial intelligence, medical image analysis, radiomics, signal processing, and modern methods supporting diagnosis and therapy. 🩺🔬
In the second part of the presentation, Prof. Strzelecki spoke about an international Polish-Korean research project, in which he serves as an International Cooperation Professor. The aim of the project is to develop an intelligent system for the precise detection and control of weeds using deep learning methods and precision spraying technology. 🇵🇱🇰🇷🤖🌱
Our first seminar of the new academic year was not only an opportunity to listen to an interesting presentation, but also to share important updates concerning our Institute.
In the new academic year, our team has welcomed two new members: Prof. Ahmet Alkan and Dr. Eng. Sebastian Urbaś. We are delighted to welcome them and wish them many successes and a great deal of satisfaction from their work at our Institute! 👋😊
The new academic year has also brought a change in the Institute’s management team. After six years of dedicated work as Deputy Director for Development, Prof. Artur Klepaczko has handed over his responsibilities to Dr. hab. Robert Olbrycht.
Artur, thank you for these six years of commitment, hard work, and contribution to the development of our Institute! 👏💙
Robert, we wish you every success in your new role! 🤝
And since this was our first seminar of the new academic year, we could not miss our unofficial tradition - Doughnut Day! 🍩☕️ After the seminar, we gathered over coffee and sweet treats to chat in a more informal atmosphere about our plans and the challenges ahead in the coming months. 😊
The new academic year has officially begun! 🚀🎓
