From September 16-18, 2026, the 29th edition of the Signal Processing: Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications (SPA 2026) conference was held at Poznan University of Technology. The event was an international scientific and technical meeting dedicated to the broad field of signal processing.
The conference program included technical sessions, research presentations, and talks by invited speakers. The SPA conference brings together theoretical aspects and practical applications, covering areas such as the analysis and processing of audio, image, and video signals, biological and medical signals, as well as electronic solutions. 馃馃搳
We are particularly pleased that our former student, Ms. Patrycja Czemerych, presented her research at this year鈥檚 conference. 馃憦
As part of Session 3: Biomedical Signal Processing II, Ms. Czemerych presented the paper "Binary Classification of Hip Osteoarthritis in Pelvic X-Ray Images Using Deep Learning and Grad-CAM Explainability", carried out under the academic supervision of Prof. Micha艂 Strzelecki. The research focuses on the application of deep learning methods for the classification of hip osteoarthritis based on pelvic X-ray images, as well as the use of Grad-CAM to improve the interpretability of model results.
